You have saved dozens of wedding dress photos. You have a Pinterest board full of inspiration. You have a date on the calendar and a venue booked. Now comes the moment you have been waiting for: your first fitting.

You walk into the boutique, heart racing, ready to find “the one.” But a question immediately pops into your head: How many wedding dresses should I try on before deciding?

The answer might surprise you. There is no magic number. For some brides, the answer is three. For others, it is twenty. The only thing that matters is finding the gown that makes you feel like the most radiant version of yourself.

At Gown & Bridal, we believe your search for the perfect wedding dress should be joyful, not stressful. That is why we do not limit the number of gowns you can try on. We will keep pulling styles until you find the one.

There is no “right” number of dresses to try

If you search online, you will find advice ranging from “try on five” to “try on ten.” The truth is every bride is different.

Some brides walk in, try on the first gown, and know immediately. It is a rare and beautiful moment, and we celebrate it every time it happens.

Other brides need to see a variety of styles to understand what they like and what they do not. They might try on a mermaid gown to see how their curves look, then an A-line to feel the difference in movement, then a ball gown just to see the drama.

The goal is not to hit a specific number. The goal is to explore your options without pressure.

The danger of “gown fatigue”

While there is no limit to how many gowns you can try on, there is a point where your brain stops processing new information. This is called gown fatigue.

After trying on eight or ten dresses in a row, every gown starts to look the same. Your brain gets tired of decision-making, and you might settle for a dress you like “okay” just to end the session.

This is why a good fitting experience is about pace and curation, not just volume. At Gown & Bridal, we take the time to listen to your style before we pull the first gown. We curate a selection based on your preferences so you are not scrolling through a rack of dresses that do not suit you.

The Gown & Bridal difference: No limits, no pressure

Here is where we are different from every other bridal boutique in Singapore.

Most shops limit you to three or five gowns per session. If you want to see more, you have to book another appointment or pay extra. They want you to decide fast so they can move to the next customer.

At Gown & Bridal, we do not limit the number of gowns you try on.

We want you to feel every fabric, see every silhouette, and explore every style you are curious about. If you want to try on ten gowns in one session, we are happy to keep pulling. If you want to try on twenty, we will keep going.

Our philosophy is simple: You should not leave until you are certain.

What if you run out of time?

Sometimes you fall in love with a style you did not expect, and you want to see more variations of it. Or maybe you just want a break to have a drink, chat with your friends, and regroup.

If you run out of time during your fitting, feel free to schedule another one.

We encourage you to come back as many times as you need. There is no rush. Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and finding the gown should be a celebration, not a race against the clock.

You can come back to try a different neckline, a different fabric, or a completely new silhouette. We will have fresh gowns ready for you, and we will pick up right where we left off.

How to make the most of your fitting session

Since you have unlimited access to our gowns, here is how to make your time count.

1. Bring your inspiration, but stay open

Show us the photos you saved. Tell us what you love about them. But keep an open mind. What looks amazing on a model in a studio photo might not be the right fit for your body or your venue.

Sometimes the gown you did not plan to try is the one that changes everything.

2. Bring the right people

Limit your fitting party to two or three people whose opinions you truly trust. Too many voices create confusion. You want honest feedback, not a committee meeting.

If you are bringing your mother, your sister, and your best friend, make sure everyone is on the same page about what you are looking for.

3. Think about your venue

The gown you wear at a garden venue in the Botanic Gardens is different from the gown you wear in a hotel ballroom at the Marina Bay Sands.

Think about your venue type, the time of day, and the Singapore weather.
Garden/Outdoor: Flowing fabrics like chiffon and tulle that move with the breeze.
Hotel Ballroom: Structured silhouettes like mermaid or satin that shine under chandelier lighting.
Private Dining Room: Intimate, elegant styles that feel personal.

4. Move in the gown

Do not just stand still and smile. Walk around. Sit down. Raise your arms. Dance a little.

Your wedding day will last 10 to 12 hours. You will be walking down aisles, sitting through ceremonies, and dancing at the reception. You need a gown that moves with you, not against you.

Why multiple fittings are a good thing

Many brides think they need to find their gown in one visit. That is not true, and it is not necessary.

In fact, multiple fittings are often the best way to find your dream gown.

Here is why:
You discover new styles: The first time you visit, you might think you only like A-line. After trying a few mermaid gowns, you might realize you love the drama of a fitted silhouette.
You get a second opinion: Come home, sleep on it, and show your partner or a friend photos of the gowns you tried. You might realize you want to see more of a specific style.
You stay relaxed: When you know you can come back, the pressure disappears. You can enjoy the experience without feeling like you have to decide on the spot.

We have had brides who visited us three times before making their final choice. Each visit brought them closer to the gown they knew was perfect.

The “trying on” experience is the differentiator

You can buy a wedding dress online. You can look at photos on Instagram. But you cannot feel the weight of the fabric, see how the light catches the beading, or experience the moment you look in the mirror and feel like a bride.

That is why the trying-on experience is so important.

At Gown & Bridal, we have designed our studio to be a private, relaxed space where you can take your time. No crowded shop floors, no rushing staff, no pressure to buy.

Just you, your people, and as many gowns as you need to find the one.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge extra if I try on more than 5 gowns?
No. There is no limit to the number of gowns you can try on during your fitting session. We want you to explore our collection freely. Once you find your dream gown, our rental packages give you 5 days to wear it, and alterations are included so it fits perfectly.

Can I come back for another fitting if I am not sure?
Absolutely. You are welcome to schedule as many fittings as you need. Many brides find that a second visit helps them narrow down their choice with fresh eyes.

How long does a fitting session last?
Our sessions are typically 90 minutes, but we are flexible. If you are loving the experience and want to try more gowns, we will stay as long as you need.

What if I want to try a Kua or Sangjit as well?
You can absolutely try traditional gowns in the same session. Many brides explore Western gowns and traditional Kua or Sangjit options during their first visit to see how they compare.

How do I book a fitting?
You can book a private fitting directly on our website or WhatsApp us to chat about your style before you come in.
